Raising the Pride Flag at the OPPA

Date: June 19, 2017

Branch:

Today, the Pride flag was raised at the Head Office of the Association in Barrie. We do so in support of our members who belong to the LGBTQ+ community and to demonstrate our commitment to support diversity and inclusion in law enforcement.

Moreover, our own Equity Inclusion Advisory Committee continues to provide strategic policy and program advice on matters of diversity, including, but not limited to: accommodation, ancestry, culture, disability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, gender expression, language, mental health, physical and intellectual ability, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation and socio-economic status which support improved terms and conditions of employment for all members.

Internally, we continue to ensure that our services are delivered in an inclusive environment for the benefit of our membership and staff.

We hope that you will take time to enjoy Pride festivities in your community and will join us in supporting a workplace that values the rich diversity of our members.

Yours truly,

President Rob Jamieson & the Board of Directors
Ontario Provincial Police Association
