OPP Association Recognizes Police Week

Date: May 15, 2017

Police Week is an annual event dedicated to promoting crime prevention, recognition and awareness of police services in the community. In addition, it serves as an opportunity to commend current police officers and civilian police personnel for their dedication and commitment in keeping Ontario safe.

This year’s theme, “Working Together for Safer Communities”, aims to promote the concept that community safety is something that all of us – police, governments, businesses, and ordinary citizens – accomplish together.

Members of the OPP Association work hard every day to keep our communities safe, healthy, and prosperous. Professional, well-trained, and committed, they provide effective (and cost-effective) policing services to over 300 Ontario communities. Across nearly a million square kilometres of land and 100,000 square kilometres of waterways, our members are proud to serve.

The OPPA considers it a privilege to represent these hard working men and women and celebrates their outstanding achievements during not only this week, but throughout the year.

Yours truly,

President Rob Jamieson & the Board of Directors
Ontario Provincial Police Association
