Hi, just wondering if there is anyone out there interested in selling an OPP sword... My husband is an officer who is interested in these but finds the ones he's seen advertised too expensive to buy for himself. I would like to give one to him as a gift. Finding one, however, has turned out to be a real challenge! Please send me an email and I will respond. Thanks, Gena
Leaving for arizona onDec 3rd. Give us a call
Hello to the brothers and sisters in the OPPA. I came across your website in the course of myDuties as an employee of another public sector association (a.k.a. "union"). I like the clean layout of your site, and was touched in particular by the memorials. But enough for now - must get to work for our own members, and will make formal contact in that regard from the office.
Enjoy reading the questbook--checking up on old friends. I retired from Markdale in 1995, a member of the USRU, now spend the summers in Tobermory and the winters skiing in the Beavervalley.
This is just to inform of my change of email address from milkcapman@sprint.ca

Change of email address effective thisDate is to the following kbb@shaw.ca
I came across this site tonight after firstDiscovering Andre Rousseau's webpage. MyDad was Jim mcelroy. His last posting was in Pembroke, Ont. He passed away suddenly in 1977. He also served in Rockland and Cornwall in the 50s and 60s. I have come across so many familiar names tonight. This is a great site.
Would you have any background information on Michael O'Leary, who joined the OPP in 1921 and resigned in 1923. He was Canada's first VC Winner in the first World War with the lst Bn Irish Guards. (Prior to the lst WW he was with the NWMP at Battleford, Sask.)
I would like to thank each Police Officer for making society a bit better. I am not as proud on the story headed Private Security VS. Public Policing. SalaryDifferences can not begin to be used to prove yourself, Federal or Province standards can though. Change the Investigator & Security Acts to force companies into better training, after all Police are expected to be trained toDeal with their roles. There are places for Security Officers to assist with - not replace - Police. Let's work with the Security Acts to improve conditions, safety, training and compensation, instead of lookingDown our noses at people working for near poverty wages.Dignity for all.
Retired Commissioner Eric Silk has to goDown in the History of Policing as one of Greatest. He lead the OPP from yesterday into tomorrow andDid it by not having ever been a Police Officer. It was contrary to popular belief at the time. This wasDone with forsight and also learning about whatDid happen at eachDetachment by going there and talking to each officer. I am proud to have served under him as were others.
As Tyler Boutiliers Father-in-Law, I would like to give my heart felt thanks to all the guys and gals that so proudly wear the uniform of the Ontario Provincial Police for their unselfish kindnessDisplayed at every moment of my wife and I attendance at Tylers funeral. Having witnessed first hand the compassion shown by all officers attending I sure am glad that I shared your sorrow and you shared ours. Tyler will always be a "10" in my book. God Bless and protect those who chose to serve and protect.
I read about the tragicDeath of Cst Tyler Boutilier this morning and it broke my heart. I attended Mount Royal College in Calgary with Tyler and remember him as a warm and caring man with a great sense of humour. My condolences to his wife Lori and the rest of the OPP family.
Happy be here

Even from a vantage point as far away as South Korea, it's apparent that the Toronto Star's war on the police continues unabated. The broadsheet bullies, playing fast and loose with innuendo and context, never miss a chance toDisparage men and women in blue. But Canada's largestDaily is a sinking ship, losing about 90 millionDollars every quarter. Perhaps it's time the OPPA advise it's members to boycott the Star. By cancelling subscriptions and refusing to buy it, maybe Canada's pre-eminent, police-pummellers will allDrown a little faster. HAPPY (Solar) NEW YEAR
Very much enjoyed your website was really interesting as i have two cousins in the OPP by the name of frechette who i have not seen for many years. Many Thanks Heath
